Served in the Crimea 1855-56, gazetted ensign 22nd Bombay Native Infantry 1856. Served during Indian Mutiny. Transferred to 10th Bombay Native Infantry and served on staff at Bombay from 1873. Afghan War Assistant Quartermaster-General, Kandahar Field Force. Deputy Quartermaster-General 1884, and Quartermaster General by 1891. Retired 1894.
