A big, bold title, with a £ sign right at its centre, and an eye-catching image showing Viv, throwing up her winnings with free abandon, as a string of hangers-on run after her.

Spend Spend Spend is a musical based on the rags-to-riches-to-rags life of Yorkshire housewife Viv Nicholson who, in 1961, won £152,319 on the football pools. In 1976 Viv wrote her autobiography, titled Spend Spend Spend after the answer she gave a journalist asking her "what are you going to do with all that money?". This book (co-written with Stephen Smith) was adapted by Steve Brown and Justin Greene as a stage musical in 1998 and originally starred singer Barbara Dickson as Viv.
