Hi-de-Hi!! started life as an enormously popular BBC television comedy, created by TV legends Jimmy Perry and David Croft, with its first episode airing in 1980 and lasting for nine series until 1988. There were a couple of stage adaptations - the first in production while the TV show was still in its prime and featuring most of the original cast. The current stage show available for theatre companies, written by Paul Carpenter and Ian Gower, was created in 2010 with some later amendments and edits before it went out for licensing.
