It's all in the bright lights, the glamour (or maybe not) of show business, reaching for the stars, standing in the spotlight - if you can do the Hard Work.

Fame began as a film - the story of a group of students at New York's High School of Performing Arts - written by Christopher Gore and directed by Alan Parker, released in 1980. The standout feature was the main theme song, Fame, which went on to win two Academy Awards and a Golden Globe. It was successful enough to spawn a six-season television series (1982-87), and the stage musical, seeing its US debut in 1988 and coming to the West End in 1995.
