This blog began in 1997 as a single news page called Nucelus. In 2005, during a long wait to move into a new house, I decided to learn some php and MySQL and write my own blogging system, which became inkyBlog and which now powers this, my own Webbledegook blog.
Thank you to my brother, Murray Ewing, for help with some of the more challenging aspects!
Regular readers will be aware that about this time last year I was just as pleased to be signed to A.P. Watt. Unfortunately my agent there, Anjali, recently left the company and I decided to make the move to Blake Friedmann. My sincere thanks to Rob Kraitt at APW, and especially Anjali Pratap who was (and is) a wonderful supporter of Orchid. Here's to the future...
All I can tell from the stats is it was their third visit, they came via a Googe search for rainbow orchid, and their IP address originates from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Visitors from the UK, USA, Finland, and Germany just missed out. (By the way, my stat counter blocks my own IP address, so my own visits are not included).
I know a million hits isn't necessarily amazing, but not bad considering I don't really promote Orchid - it's largely word of mouth (or rather, link of link) - but I think it's worth noting anyway. Cheers all (especially Canada)!

Edit: Website is now up.
