aka: Fukyugata Dai Ni
The first kata learnt in the Goju-Ryu system, it is a neat addition to the Shotokan syllabus, possibly falling around the Heian Nidan/Sandan level in complexity, but giving a different aspect to the kihon.
History
Created from the Fukyu kata originated by Chojun Miyagi and Shoshin Nagamine just before Japan's entry into the Second World War, and inspired by the Shuri-te of Anko Itosu's Pinan (Heian) series. ~ GE| < Tensho | back to main kata page | Rohai > |
